About the Bootheel and Southeast Missouri region

Mississippi River lowlands and farmland in the southeast. For Missouri, we read the state's own licensing rules and link the agency instead of summarising rules we have not confirmed.

Outfitter and guide licensing in Missouri

No state hunting-guide or outfitter license found on the pages we read

Licensing body: Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). Where to check a license:MDC permits.

• MDC's special use permits page lists "guiding for pay" among activities prohibited on MDC conservation areas that may NOT be authorized by a special use permit. A Missouri outfitter therefore cannot guide paying clients on conservation areas, so ask which land a hunt is on. Source (read October 23, 2026)

Not a legal conclusion: finding no license on the pages we read does not mean none exists. Ask the agency what applies to paid hunting guides.

State wildlife agency: Missouri Department of Conservation (link checked October 23, 2026). Missouri rules change: check with the agency before booking a hunt or operating as a guide.

Questions to ask about these hunts

• Waterfowl: Is the hunt on private land, public land or both, and what covers the guiding on public land?
• Wingshooting: Wingshooting hunts cover waterfowl, upland birds and turkey with a shotgun. Compare dogs, field or blind setups and shell and equipment rules.
